About Me

I see myself as an image creator.

All art projects deal with the understanding of the human in art. How is knowledge conveyed in the image, how does image-based knowledge change or influence ways of life and cultures? Yet only as an offering in the artistic field, sensitizing and questioning, not explaining, but ideally clarifying. In the exhibition series, different perspectives of perception intersect. There are images that have emerged from an occasion of general or individual importance but allow an open interpretation. Also, the color scheme and composition are to be attributed to the artificial rather than a message. Another position involves images that have arisen as documents. These are digital recordings from webcams projected on a monitor and, from there, captured by a digital camera in a relatively random manner, including images from the living environment. These images are documents that present themselves as a seemingly on-site experience to people. Since 2002, all work steps, except for the final process, have been in the digital work environment. The Finnish has landed in the ancient technique of encaustic after many experiments with waxes, adhesives, and oils.
